Leshan Giant Buddha is the tallest stone Buddha statue in the world, and is the hottest tourist destination in southwest China thanks to the greatness and mystery. It is carved from a cliff by the 8th century monk in southern Szechuan province, near the city of Leshan.
It takes nearly eight centuries to create a giant Buddha statue in Sichuan as high as 90 meters this. Buddha-sized ears are seven feet, toes and even can be used to sit. The tourists who want to take a close look to climb as the road zig-zag ladder consisting of 250 steps.
The Giant Buddha is located at the confluence of the Minjiang, Dadu and Qingyi. Overlooking the sacred Mount Emei (with which to share its World Heritage status), with rivers flowing beneath his feet.
