The Holly River Nil, Egypt
The legendary Nile River eventually flows into the mountainous region of Sinai or the Sant Catherine, where Moses supposedly received revelations from God. Nile water to irrigate the region managed to rock and barren mountains were once the project-making branch of the Nile river and canal water was completed.
EU Ambassador to Egypt, Mark Franco, announced the completion and success of the project development processions of the Nile water flowing into the town of Sant Catherine, located at the foot of Mount Sinai (Jabal thur or Jabal Musa).
During his visit to the South Sinai region on Wednesday (10 / 2) yesterday, Franco said, the project is one of the major and important projects of the European Union to develop the South Sinai region.
The cost of canal water project of the Nile to the region spent a total fund of 150 million Egyptian pounds (about 3 billion rupiah). The total budgeted cost of the European Union to develop the South Sinai region ranges from 64 billion euros.
Located about 600 KM from Cairo (city lane through which the Nile River), South Sinai region regarded as an important area. In the region there are sacred and historic place for three religions: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. In addition to Mount Thursina or Jabal Musa, there are also settlements Shu'aib Prophet, Prophet Aaron Tomb, Ox Samiri Site, and also Christian Sant Catherine's Monastery which stands in the early centuries AD.
Besides covering historic sites and sacred, South Sinai region also has many other international areas of nature tourism, especially along the Red Sea coast, such as the coast of Sharm Sheikh, Dahab, Taba, and others.
